For instance, romantic partnerships, families of origin and procreation, and communities, are all examples of systems that influence the way we think, feel, and act. Katie utilizes the avenue of couples therapy and family therapy to assist clients to better understand themselves within these systems in order to open the possibility of interacting with their existing systems more effectively and understand themselves more deeply.

Of particular interest of Katie's, among many, is supporting our LGBTQ community through advocacy, providing assessments and medical recommendations for the transgender community, and creating a safe and secure space for self-identified LGBTQ clients and their loved ones. Katie utilizes a systemic approach to therapy, and understands the importance of a person's unique relationship with themselves and others.
